JMPD pounces on delivery bikes operating unlawfully in Rosebank

JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) says there's been an increase in delivery bikes operating unlawfully in Rosebank, north of Johannesburg.
In a statement, the JMPD revealed that many riders don’t have the correct operating licences.
It added that on Tuesday alone, 15 motorbikes were impounded by law officials for various obstructions of road regulations.

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla has implored riders to ensure they have the correct documentation to continue with work.
"Many riders lack valid driver’s licenses, vehicle license discs, and, for foreign nationals, proper immigration documentation such as passports and permits authorising commercial operations in South Africa."
