Mamelodi Sundowns concluded their 2024/25 Betway Premiership with a perfect home record.

The Brazilians were officially crowned Premiership champions after defeating Magesi 2–0 at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday (18 May).

They won all 14 of their league home games this season in the lead up to their 24th Betway Premiership win, their eighth in a row.

“It’s a team sport, it is an institution with rich culture and a great desire to always want to succeed… Sundowns have shown that in many ways.”

Its campaign was not without its challenges for both the league and the team, says Komphela.

In addition to several changes made to the PSL, Sundown had to juggle the Betway Premiership, Nedbank Cup, as well as the CAF Champions League.

“The experience we have gathered over the years assisted us.”

Sundowns now shift their focus to the Champions League.

They will host Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the first leg of the final at Loftus Versfeld on 24 May.
