CAPE TOWN - Home Affairs Minister, Leon Schreiber, says the country will have no choice but to move to electronic voting because of the tech-savvy younger voters.
He said using the old manual methods might not be acceptable to young voters in future elections, because of technological advances and changing behaviours.

Schreiber was responding to questions in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) on Tuesday on the progress with investigating electronic voting in South Africa for future elections.
"Everything is digital, especially with the younger generation. And the demand will be why are you doing things in this old manual way. And I think that’s why it’s important for us to start early on these conversations, because the worst outcome is for young people to say listen, I live in a digital world, and insist that I must be able to have these channels to vote."
