Expect staggered return of water to taps, Rand Water tells Midvaal and Emfuleni residents

JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Midvaal and Emfuleni can expect a staggered return of water to their taps, Rand Water said.
The bulk water supplier completed its maintenance of the Amanzimtoti pump station on Saturday.
On Thursday, the utility began rolling out its scheduled May to July maintenance of key infrastructure in several municipalities across Gauteng.

Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo also warned residents of possible supply disruptions during this period, with some areas expected to contend with dry taps for up to five days.
"We are pleased to report that the maintenance conducted on the Amanzimtoti pump set 5 has been completed. During the maintenance period, Rand Water will issue regular updates through its official communication channels and social media platforms."
Maroo adds that Rand Water and municipalities are supplying affected areas with water tankers.
