BLOEMFONTEIN - Hundreds of people gathered at the Bloemfontein City Hall to lay slain 30-year-old Olorato Mongale to rest.
Mourners joined her family, government officials, and political leaders to bid the 30-year-old farewell on Sunday.
The young journalist was killed last Sunday after she left her home to meet a man that she had recently begun dating.
Her body was discovered hours later in Lombardy East, Johannesburg.
Speaking at her funeral, Mongale’s mother, Basetsana, called her daughter a “fighter” who never “begged for mercy”.
Her loved ones, meanwhile, described her as magical and full of energy.
