JOHANNESBURG - All lanes on the N3 toll route near the Roadside/Reitz interchange in the Free State have been cleared to traffic following this Monday morning’s blockade.
A number of trucks obstructed the flow of traffic in what was believed to be an orchestrated demonstration earlier on Monday morning.
This resulted in a gridlock on the busy interchange.
COO Thania Dhogra said that while the road had been opened to traffic again, motorists were still advised to approach the area with caution.
"N3TC thanks all motorists for their patience and understanding and expresses our gratitude to all our road incident management systems partners for their combined efforts to open the road as quickly, as safely as possible. We remind our road users that road safety is a shared responsibility and ask them to please follow all the rules of the road at all times."
