JOHANNESBURG - The investigating officer in the case of a man accused of raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl will be back in the witness stand of the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
During his last appearance, Simon Modise fielded a raft of questions from the man's lawyer, Frik van Rensburg, who attempted to discredit him.
He will continue answering questions before the lower court on Tuesday as the accused forges ahead with his application for bail.
Warrant Officer Simon Modise is expected to answer more questions before the Boksburg Magistrates Court as the defence attempts to poke holes in his testimony.
It was previously revealed that the 11-year-old was also allegedly raped in 2019, when she was just 6-years-old.
However, the lawyer for the man accused of raping and impregnating the minor in December last year, Van Rensburg questioned the medical examinations conducted on the child.
Modise: "I did not investigate."
Van Rensburg: "Why not sir? You alleged that she was raped the first time in December 2019 when she was 6-years-old. All of this came out on the 21st of April 2025."
Tuesday's sitting is expected to bring the matter closer to finality in the case, which has been marred with delays.
