Cast of season 2 of 'Shaka iLembe' say audiences in for more drama and intrigue

JOHANNESBURG - The renowned cast of season two of the groundbreaking series Shaka iLembe said South African audiences are in for more drama and intrigue after a successful first season of the series.
The return of the story of King Shaka Zulu returned to the small screens on Sunday.
The series traces the origins of its main character, King Shaka, and the extraordinary events and experiences that characterised the life of one of the most influential figures in the Zulu nation.
The star-studded cast includes actress Nomzamo Mbatha as King Shaka’s mother, Nandi.

Actor Thembinkosi Mthembu, who plays Dingiswayo, said his character will reveal his influence in nation-building.
“Dingiswayo is now a king, and he becomes a mentor to Shaka. In this season, he brings together all the people who helped him while he was in exile. His focus is to maintain peace in the land.”
Dawn Thandeka King, who plays Mkabayi kaJama, said viewers are in for a surprise.
“She had a love interest, and I know that’s going to shake you up because everyone saw Mkabayi as a man, she had masculine energy.”
