Sundowns at FIFA Club World Cup: ‘South Africans have what it takes!' - Hlompho Kekana
Mamelodi Sundowns are representing South Africa at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

The Betway Premiership Champions got their FIFA Club World Cup campaign off to a winning start on Wednesday (18 June).
The South African side scored a 1–0 victory over the South Korean side Ulsan HD.

Speaking to 947’s Robert Marawa, former Sundowns player Hlompho Kekana says there is excitement in the camp.

The team’s opening game is important as it sets the tone and sends the message that they are here, says Kekana.

Mamelodi Sundowns take on Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (21 June) at 6 pm, followed by Fluminense FC on Wednesday (25 June) at 9 pm.
