Rugby history will be rewritten when the Springboks launch their 2025 season against the Barbarians at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday, 28 June. Kickoff is at 5.10 pm.
Woodburn, currently in Manchester, attending the global Stadium Business Summit, shares insights into how Cape Town’s busy stadium is benchmarking itself against some of the world’s leading venues and gives us a preview of preparations for the upcoming Springboks vs Barbarians match.
The team at the Stadium will make sure 'game day is perfect', promises Woodburn.
As for tickets, Woodburn expects a 'near sold-out stadium'.
Special ticket prices are available to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Springboks beating the All Blacks at Ellis Park in 1995.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
"There are about 40,000 tickets in the market already. I know there are a couple left on North and South, and there's a new price that's been put out into the market... I think we'll see a near sold-out stadium..."
- Gina Woodburn, CEO - DHL Stadium
Woodburn says park-and-rides from UCT, the CTICC, the Civic Centre, Century City, and MyCiTi buses will be available on the day.
"... we encourage people not to come to the precinct to try and find parking on event day. There's so much happening, and it's such a nice experience to use a park-and-ride to travel in and use a MyCiTi bus to get to the stadium in an easy time to enjoy the day."
