JOHANNESBURG - The matter of a couple accused of operating a global child pornography network has been postponed to 16 September 2025 for further investigations.
Darryn Wilken and his girlfriend, Megan Moodley, appeared in the Randburg Regional Court on Friday.
They face charges of manufacturing and distributing child pornography and money laundering.
The State says Wilken and Moodley made millions through their distribution of child pornography worldwide.
They were arrested in January after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) led the South African Police Service (SAPS) to the couple’s home in Midrand.
Since their arrest, police have seized Wilken’s luxury vehicle, R600,000 in cash found in the apartment and high-tech equipment.
The couple will remain in custody while investigations continue.
Gauteng’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)’s spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwana, said, "We believe as a State, when the matter returns to court, we would have finalised our investigation so we can finalise the indictment."
It's alleged they produced and distributed around 10 million videos and images of child sexual abuse material.
