JOHANNESBURG - The bail hearing of the man accused of the premeditated murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose is set to continue on Wednesday.

Mduduzi Mnisi took the stand on Tuesday at the Roodepoort Magistrates Court in Johannesburg.

The 39-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against him, claiming there was video footage to prove his innocence.

Fose's mutilated body was discovered in an open veld not far from her home in Durban Deep more than two weeks ago.

During Tuesday’s proceedings, Mnisi told the court that the investigating officer in charge of the matter had a personal vendetta against him.

He said he had relayed information to the investigating officer to follow up on, which proved that he was not with the girl on the day she disappeared.

Mnisi was reportedly last seen with Fose before she vanished.

Mnisi told the court that the first time he even heard about Fose's death was the morning her body was found by community members.

On Wednesday, his girlfriend is set to take the stand to testify that she was with him and he slept at her place the evening he was accused of killing the teen.
