JOHANNESBURG - The N12 in Benoni, which was temporarily closed on Wednesday morning due to a service delivery protest, has been reopened.
Metro police said residents from Chief Albert Luthuli had blockaded the freeway with burning tyres and rubble.
Law enforcement warned, however, that the situation remained volatile.
The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD)’s Joy Mdluli said: “Chief Albert Luthuli which they’ve been having a power outage for the past five days and are demanding the councillor to address them. Traffic is now flowing as it was barricaded earlier on."
