Community leader Althea Curtis said the last update shared by the community policing forum (CPF) was that investigations were at an advanced stage.
No arrests have been made since the horrific discovery of the little boy’s body at the Swazi Place Complex.
His murder sparked an uproar in the community, with many joining in the calls for justice for his family.
The boy was reported missing after he had failed to return home from school, raising concern for his mother, who was home on the day.
Curtis said that his case was brought up in Parliament, but still, they had no answers.
"This is an injustice. This is not fair that a mother has to find a child like that. No child should suffer at the hands of such evil. Jayden Lee Meek deserved, like every other child, to be protected by the police that is there to serve and protect them. However, they didn't do that. To date, as I mentioned, there's no update, there's no movement update."
She added that residents would stage a protest at the Florida police station on Saturday to demand justice for Jayden.
