Joburg EMS on high alert for any fire incidents, as temperatures set to drop

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) said they were on high alert for any fire incidents, as temperatures are set to drop on Friday.
This follows an intense cold front that has hit the southern parts of the country.
Johannesburg EMS said its response teams had been designated across all the regions of the metro.
Spokesperson Xolile Khumalo said teams were on standby to avoid any loss of life.
"The City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services rescue teams and firefighters remain on high alert throughout the winter season to provide swift emergency responses and firefighting operations to all residents across the municipality."
