Five years after the first film, Netflix has released the sequel to Charlize Theron’s film ‘The Old Guard 2’.
The film, based on the graphic novels by Gregory Rucka, initially broke Netflix records when it was first released.
There was speculation on whether the sequel would be released after Theron revealed they were facing substantial delays due to leadership changes at Netflix.
Speaking to Variety in 2024, she said that filming completed two years prior.
“We got kind of stuck in that and our post-production shut down, I think, five weeks into it,” she told Variety.
The sequel finally arrived on the streaming platform this week and picks up right from where it first left off with the immortal warrior Andy, played by Theron, and her team.
They face new threats, a new foe played by Uma Thurman, and difficult decisions.
