Mam Zodwa served as Madikizela-Mandela’s personal assistant from 2007 until her passing in 2018.
Throughout those years, she accompanied Madikizela-Mandela everywhere.
In 2022, Mabuza honoured one of Madikizela-Mandela’s heartfelt wishes by building Mam Zodwa a five-room house in South Hills, Johannesburg.
Mam Zodwa said this remains her most treasured memory of the late former Deputy President.
“He said there is no way Mam Zodwa cannot have a house. He ended up getting me a house in South Hills, which is something that I truly appreciate. You would never know how much you appreciate something that someone gave to you until they are no more.”
She added that Madikizela-Mandela was very fond of Mabuza.
