JOHANNESBURG - New evidence corroborating the version of events shared by the man accused of murdering Likhona Fose has been revealed.
Mduduzi Mnisi is alleged to have been the last person seen with the 14-year-old before she was killed.
The 39-year-old has repeatedly denied this, saying he was nowhere near Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg, on the day in question.
Fose's body was found mutilated in an open veld, a day after she was reported missing.
Investigating officer, Moses Semosa, returned to the stand in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Wednesday as Mnisi continued his bid for bail.
Semosa said his findings corroborated the suspect’s testimony.
"On the 31st May, 2025, time 16:55:49 seconds. The applicant before court, the tower shows Daveyton."
Prosecutor Shadrack Temeki said if this was the case, it means his girlfriend Pinky Gantso, who testified on his behalf, lied under oath.
"So, the girlfriend, who he called, could not be correct to say the applicant remained with her from the time he came from Daveyton up until the next morning. That's a lie, according to the tower location of his cell phone, correct?"
"That's correct," said Semosa.
