The Democratic Alliance (DA) has laid a charge of fraud against police Minister Senzo Mchunu at the Cape Town Central Police Station.
The party says it will also submit a formal complaint to Parliament’s Joint Committee on Ethics and Members’ Interests.
It comes in light of the claims of corruption made on Sunday by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The DA states the minister delivered conflicting statements in Parliament regarding his relationship with a businessman reportedly associated with criminal syndicates and political interference in the police service.
