KZN security organisations call on police to fight against corruption and crime

DURBAN - Security organisations in KwaZulu-Natal have called on the police in the province to put up a strong fight against corruption and crime in the province.
This is on the back of shocking allegations made by KZN police chief, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, that law enforcement agencies were riddled with political interference.
Security organisations and crime-fighting organisations are part of a march to police headquarters in Durban on Tuesday to pledge support for the KZN police boss.
They said while the allegations were being probed, they wanted police to clean up house as they also face corruption allegations.
Security boss, Vees Pillay, was part of the march.
"Our clarion call today is this is not just a race thing, this is a South African thing, a problem that each and every South African speak in their mouth, corruption within government sectors, corruption in policing and law enforcement sectors and it’s high time that we as South Africans come together and put an end to this by voicing our concerns."
