JOHANNESBURG - A Katlehong family in Ekurhuleni has expressed outrage over a lack of communication from law enforcement regarding the arrest of a suspect who allegedly ran over and killed their 13-year-old child.
In June, a woman rammed her car into a crowd of young girls during a traditional celebration in the area, killing Pretty Mahlangu.
The woman was reportedly arrested and released on station bail pending further investigation.

The family claimed it was denied an opportunity to open a case of murder after reporting the incident to the police, saying they were told that a case of culpable homicide was already being investigated.
Three weeks after the incident, family spokesperson, Mzwandile Soyaya, said that the manner in which the case was handled was frustrating.
"Its time that we speak the truth now. [We're] Not saying we were holding back, but we were giving the police a chance to do their investigations. Since from day one when we went there on Saturday night, on the day of the incident, we were told that we are interfering with the investigation. Now I'm shocked with what I'm hearing now, that there's a new warrant of arrest that has been issued. That has not yet been communicated to us as a family."
