947’s Robert Marawa speaks with Phindile Phiri, Coca-Cola Africa Senior Director of Assets, Influencers and Partnerships.
Listen below:
From collectable Coca-Cola cans and Powerade bottles, to its ‘Be a Bok’ campaign to get a glimpse into Camp Rassie...
“This partnership stems back 30 years, I am so excited right now! The green, the glory, and the victory.”
– Phindile Phiri, Senior Director – Coca-Cola Africa
“The last two games, we’ve actually had the ordinary South African just taking a can, scanning, and just going through the experience. You find yourself in a locker room with the Springboks. That’s unheard of.”
– Phindile Phiri, Senior Director – Coca-Cola Africa
Coca-Cola brand Powerade also announced its new brand ambassadorship with rising star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
Under the ambassadorship contract is an ‘Athletes Code’, a contractual provision that allows the athletes to pause their commitments to focus on their mental health, without jeopardising their contract.
“Powerade affords us the opportunity now to be able to say that you are not just about [your sport]. You can take a pause.”
– Phindile Phiri, Senior Director – Coca-Cola Africa
