JOHANNESBURG - The family of slain 11-year-old Jayden Lee Meek said it had placed all its trust in the justice system to solve the mystery of his murder.

The comments were made outside the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Friday, where the child's mother appeared.

Tiffany Meek was applying for bail following her arrest in connection with her child's murder.

The 11-year-old was discovered in front of his family unit at the Fleurhof complex in May.

In her bid for bail, Tiffany Lee Meek denied all the allegations against her, claiming that she was being framed.

This comes as the State insisted it had damning evidence which led police to arrest her in connection with her son's murder.

The State said the evidence was found in the flat that Jayden Lee and his mother shared.

But in her affidavit, Tiffany Meek argued that if such evidence had been found in her apartment, she would have been arrested sooner.

Addressing the media outside the court, the child's uncle, Owen Meek, said all they wanted as a family was the truth.

"So we, as a Meek family, are backing up behind the law on this. We put in our confidence that justice will be served for Jayden. That's what we want."

Tiffany Nicole Meek will return to court next week Monday.
