JOHANNESBURG - The mother of slain 11-year-old Jayden Lee Meek insisted someone is trying to frame her for her child's murder.

Tiffany Meek has pleaded not guilty to all charges against her in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Friday.

Meek is applying for bail, two months after the lifeless body of her son was found outside their home.

She had reported him missing, claiming Jayden Lee failed to return home from school.

Reading Meek's affidavit in court on Friday morning, her defence lawyer, Noven Naidoo, said she will cooperate with authorities.

“I do not have the means nor the support to flee this country, hence I am not a flight risk. I would like to record at this early stage that if the State persists with the charges against me, I wish to stand my trial and that I want to explain it so far."

Meek will, however, spend the weekend behind bars after her bail application was postponed to allow the State more time to prepare its argument.
