Traffic disruptions around Orlando Stadium

JOHANNESBURG— The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is urging motorists and soccer fans to plan their travel around the south of Johannesburg properly to avoid disruptions.
Road users should expect traffic disruptions around Orlando Stadium in Soweto due to the soccer match between Orlando Pirates and Polokwane City on Saturday.
Major routes leading to the stadium will be affected by traffic congestion along the N12 Soweto Highway, and road users have been advised to familiarise themselves with the traffic management plan around the precinct.
RTMC says law enforcement officers will be assisting motorists in order to maintain public safety and control traffic.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has indicated that the following routes will be affected:
N17, Soweto Highway, Klipspruit Valley Road, Martha Louw Street, and Mooki Street.
Road closures will be implemented at 11h00.
Road closures will be implemented on:
Mooki Street between Nkom Ya Hlaba and Masopha Streets. Also, expect closures on Martha Louw Street between Klipspruit Valley Road and Mooki Street, and at Adams and Rathebe Streets next to the YMCA and Adams and Nzama Streets.
The following alternative routes can be used in the affected areas:
From Mooki Street, motorists can use Ballenden and Masupa Streets. Motorists can also use Soweto Highway and Klipspruit Valley Road.
