Probe into Mdantsane bullying incident to conclude within 2 weeks, says EC Education MEC

JOHANNESBURG - Investigations into the bullying incident of a girl who was attacked by a group of learners in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape is set to be concluded within two weeks.
In viral video footage, the group can be seen hitting a female learner who was travelling home from school on the scholar bus on Friday.

The group has since been suspended from David Mama Senior Secondary School, pending the outcome of investigations.
In response to the matter, the provincial Department of Education, alongside the Department of Transport, has taken steps to remedy the situation.
"Once you become relaxed from a procedural point of view, you might put everybody under stress. So that's why I am saying this matter is not going to take beyond two weeks. It must conduct investigations now, conclude them," said MEC of Education Fundile Gade.
