2 multi-vehicle crashes on N3 cause lane closures, congestion

JOHANNESBURG - Two multiple vehicle crashes on the N3 on Van Reenen Pass and near Estcourt are heavily affecting traffic due to the closure of affected lanes.
Four trucks collided on the route near Windy Corner, leading to the closure of all lanes to traffic.
Two trucks also collided, with that accident affecting northbound lanes near the Estcourt South interchange.
Emergency services are attending to both crash scenes, but road users are warned to anticipate traffic congestion and travel delays.
"Heavy mist, rain and poor visibility are being reported along various sections of the N3 Toll Route, causing dangerous driving conditions, and placing additional pressure on emergency resources. N3TC [N3 Toll Concession] appeals to all road users to reduce speed, drive defensively, and to please approach the crash scenes with caution," said the toll concession's Thania Doogra.
