SA Weather Service warns of cold, wet and windy conditions in WC

CAPE TOWN - More cold, wet and windy weather conditions are on the cards for the Western Cape, with a cold front expected to make landfall this weekend.
The SA Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for Saturday and Sunday in the Western Cape and Namaqua regions.
Western Cape disaster risk reduction director Nabeel Rylands said damaging winds and waves are expected to batter the coast.
"A cold front is expected on Saturday, 09 August, bringing gale force winds and waves of up to six metres high between Cape Columbine and Plettenberg Bay."
Rylands said communities along the coast, including Cape Town, George, Mossel Bay and Overstrand are urged to take precautions.
"Small boats and kayaks should stay out of the water and beach goers must be alert to large unpredictable waves. Stay safe stay informed and for full details visit the South African Weather Service's website or your local municipality's page."
