Aubrey and Nthatheng worked together closely for 12 years.
Aubrey says that the two of them had the typical ‘work husband and wife’ relationship, and he was heartbroken by her unexpected passing.
“It is a strange and surreal loss. It is a big vacuum that I am unable to fathom and understand and give words to at the moment.”
- Aubrey Masango, Show Host
He dedicated the first hour of his show to remembering and paying tribute to this incredible person.
“She will always be a part of this show, a part of our hearts, and a part of our minds.”
- Aubrey Masango, Show Host
Aubrey describes her as an institution and one of the people who could hold the organisation together.
He adds that she was someone who looked at you with an expectation that you would be excellent at what you were doing.
At the same time, he says she was a very unassuming but powerful presence.
“She remains one of the people that have directed and influenced in the best possible way the conversation that is quintessentially South African.”
