CAPE TOWN - A 60-year-old man has been arrested after being linked to a fire that claimed the lives of three people this week.
Police said the charred remains of an adult man and woman, as well as a four-year-old child, were found at a residence in New Rest, Wallacedene, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The suspect faces three counts of murder and is expected to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The police's Andre Traut: "The cause of the fire was initially unknown, and an inquest docket was opened. However, preliminary investigations revealed evidence suggesting the fire had been deliberately started. A possible motive for the attack is believed to be linked to jealousy."
