The retired Peruvian footballer was widely regarded as one of the country’s best and a Bundesliga legend.

He started playing professionally at 17 and, like many, had the dream of moving to Europe to play for a top club.

He played for both Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich during his time.

He is the all-time top scorer at Bremen, ninth top scorer at Munich and the sixth top scorer in the history of the Bundesliga with 197 goals in 490 matches.

Pizarro now spends his time on the pitch with the youth, sharing his wealth of knowledge.

He currently serves as a club ambassador for Bayern Munich

Looking towards the season ahead, Pizarro says the team managed well during the transfer window and will look to further strengthen the team.
