JOHANNESBURG - The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) said it was investigating videos showing drivers forcing passengers out of private cars and into minibus taxis.
The footage, which resurfaced on social media, has sparked anger and renewed claims of taxi industry bullying following the killing of an e-hailing driver at Maponya Mall last week.

At a briefing in Johannesburg on Tuesday, the body’s president, Matlobane Tsebe, condemned the behaviour and said SANTACO was working with police to ensure accountability.
He also denied that taxi operators refused to work alongside e-hailing services.
