On Tuesday, the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court heard the bail applications of the three men accused of killing Sithole in a hail of bullets on 31 May at the Buyafathi hostel in Katlehong.
In their affidavits submitted to court, the three men said they all intend to plead not guilty.
Accused two and three have told the court that they live at the Buyafuthi hostel in Katlehong with their wives and children, while accused number one said he lived at the Madala hostel in Thokoza, also with his family.
While the three men hail from KwaZulu-Natal, they all said they had been living at the Ekurhuleni hostels for a number of years.
The investigating officer in the case said that he visited their listed addresses and could not find anything that supported that.
The matter returns to court on Thursday, where the investigating officer will be cross-examined by the defence lawyer.
