JOHANNESBURG - Civil society movement, the Activists and Citizens Forum, is urging members of the criminal justice system to provide corruption-related information to the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

On Wednesday, the judicial commission of inquiry into corruption in the system announced that it would commence with hearings on 1 September.

The commission was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in July, just days after KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, made public a series of explosive allegations of corruption and political interference.

Dennis Bloem, of the Activists and Citizens Forum, said they would closely monitor the Madlanga judicial commission of inquiry, as well as Parliament’s ad-hoc committee, who will investigate Mkhwanazi’s allegations.

"All those who are hellbent in capturing the criminal justice system for the second time must be exposed and must face the full might of the law."
