Tiger Brands has issued a precautionary, voluntary recall of its Benny Beef and Chicken Flavoured Stock Cubes due to inaccurate sodium content labelling.
The recall, which affects all 12, 24, and 48-cube pack sizes with best-before dates of 31 July 2027 or earlier, was announced in consultation with the National Consumer Commission.
According to a company statement, the products were manufactured by a third-party supplier for its Culinary Division and have been on the shelves since 2023.
Consumers are encouraged to return the affected products to their point of purchase for a full refund or a coupon; no proof of purchase is required.
Tiger Brands has apologised for the inconvenience and said it is working to update product labelling before relaunching the stock cubes.
