JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates Football Club (FC) has confirmed their coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has been hospitalised after he and five staff members were involved in a car accident.
The incident happened on Sunday night, on the R21 highway as they were returning from Gqeberha after 3-0 league victory against Chippa United that afternoon.
The pirates team bus had stopped to assist at the scene of a collision between two vehicles when another car crashed into the stationary vehicles and the group of people who had gotten off the bus to help, including coach Ouaddou.
Ouaddou and the unnamed staff members are in hospital recovering.
Orlando Pirates FC has described the accident as serious, saying that their privacy is foremost.
The club added that it would provide updates on the casualties in due course.
