CAPE TOWN - The Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) has confirmed one of its members in Lwandle, near Strand, has been shot and killed.
This comes as a high court interdict is in place until 9 October to end the recent taxi-related violence in the city.

Five people were killed at taxi ranks in Philippi East, Khayelitsha and Macassar two weeks ago in attacks related to a feud over a route to and from Somerset West.
The interdict gives the provincial department of mobility the go-ahead to implement tougher measures if the violence persists.
CATA spokesperson Nkululeko Sityebi said the man was a well-respected member of the association.
"The member who has passed on is a legitimate member of CATA, a former secretary of CATA Lwandle. He was shot this morning and then he passed on."
