CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Department of Social Development is committed to providing safe spaces where members of the youth can grow.
The department said the child and youth care centres were the first of its kind in the province.
The centre provides a safe space to children who have been abused or neglected.
MEC for social development, Jaco Londt, said the centre aimed to rehabilitate troubled youth members.
"We also have professionals, our social workers, the child and youth care workers, occupational therapists that work with the children, that work through their trauma, that work in how do you get that control."
