CAPE TOWN - The focus in the Western Cape High Court has turned to an alleged corrupt cop on Monday afternoon as the trial into the murder of "Steroid king" Brian Wainstein continues.
Alleged underworld gang boss Jerome "Donkie" Booysen and 11 others face 36 charges related to Wainstein's murder in 2017 and other crimes.
Today, a ballistics expert has taken the stand to testify about one of the accused, a former Sea Point detective charged with corruption.
A police woman from the ballistic unit at the SAPS forensic science laboratory in Plattekloof, who has asked not to be named, testified today about how co-accused Wayne Henderson allegedly refused to take fingerprints from a firearm related to Brian Wainstein's murder in 2017.

It's the state's case, Henderson who is a former Sea Point police officer -- agreed to accept a one hundred thousand rand bribe from accused number four, Sam Farquharson, to jeopardise the case.
Henderson is accused of not collecting a firearm related to Wainstein's murder, which he was supposed to examine for fingerprints.
The witness said Henderson phoned her unit to inform her colleagues she should continue with her ballistics report if he did not get back to them before the end of the day.
Judge: "As far as what you were aware, had he come back to the person who had made the phone call?"
Witness: "No judge."
The trial continues.
