Final preparations underway for start of Madlanga Inquiry

The stage is set for the Madlanga Judicial Commission of Inquiry to officially start on Wednesday.

Final preparations are currently underway at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi will be the first witness to testify at the highly anticipated commission after he made explosive claims of interference within the criminal justice system.

It's all systems go as the final tweaking of technical systems is underway.

Two police Nyalas are stationed in the parking lot near the public entrance, as tight security measures remain a key factor in ensuring a smooth start to the commission's proceedings.

Hundreds of people, including members of political parties, civil society groups, and trade unions, are expected to descend on the venue on Wednesday morning.

The commission said it would only accommodate 300 members of the public, urging those wanting to attend to arrive early to avoid being turned away.

KZN top cop, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, will take the stand as the first witness when the hearings commence at 10am.
