SASSA confirms grant payment dates for October 2025

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed dates for the upcoming October grant payments.

• Old age grant: Thursday, 2 October 2025
• Disability grant: 3 October 2025
• Child and all other grants: Monday, 6 October 2025

Payments for the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant begin in the first week of October.

SRD beneficiaries are not paid on the same day but rather in batches.

SASSA also reminds all new applicants of its mandatory biometric enrolment in an effort to curb fraud.

From 1 September, all new grant applications required a fingerprint or facial scan.

So far, more than 42,000 clients have been enrolled at 432 SASSA offices.
