Fochville mayor promises to respond to protesting residents' demands within given timeframe

Fochville executive mayor, Nozuko Best, said the metro would do its best to respond to residents’ demands for the immediate restoration of water within the given timeframe.

The residents say they will wait here along the N12 highway until the Premier comes to receive their memorandum of grievances.

They said they've had no water supply for weeks, with residents forced to fetch water from the local river.
The N12 highway is where Best met with angry residents to receive their memorandum of demands.
The community said if the water supply wasn’t restored by Wednesday afternoon, the protests would continue.

Best signed the memorandum and addressed the frustrated residents, who are calling for her resignation.
"Greetings residents. I heard what you are asking for in your memorandum. I will ensure that we respond within the timeframe we were given. Thank you," Best said.
The mayor declined to comment on the calls for her to step down.
