HYROX is growing as a popular and competitive sport globally.
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a global indoor fitness racing competition that combines eight 1-kilometre runs with eight functional fitness workout stations, such as the SkiErg, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Row, Farmer's Carry, Sandbag Lunges, and Wall Balls.
The consistent format across all events allows for global leaderboards, and the competition is open to a wide range of athletes through various divisions, including solo, doubles, and relays.
"It's basically a high-intensity interval competition," explains Gash.
"Everyone can do it, whether you're underweight, overweight, a former athlete or a fitness entry person... It's challenging, but the exercises themselves are all pretty easy," says Gash.

"What I love about it is that it's trying to just get everyone moving. If you don't have a fitness goal to aspire to, that motivation goes... so this competition is giving people a reason... It's taking someone who doesn't train to say 'Oh, what can I do next?' It gives your training a purpose."

"People are realising that health is wealth and your body is your greatest tool, and you have to strengthen that as much as you can."
