The Patriotic Alliance (PA) and the African National Congress (ANC)'s fallout in the City of Johannesburg could lead to the party's exit from the Government of National Unity (GNU).
PA leader Gayton McKenzie, who serves on the Government of National Unity (GNU) as the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, earlier threatened to withdraw from all coalitions unless Kenny Kunene is reinstated to Joburg's mayoral committee.
Kunene, the party's deputy president, has also confirmed the party is considering withdrawing from the GNU and any government of provincial unity.

Kunene was removed from the mayoral committee by the PA after he was found at the Sandton home of Katiso 'KT' Molefe when police showed up to arrest the controversial businessman in July.
An independent investigation has since cleared Kunene of any wrongdoing, and the party says he should be reappointed, failing which they will leave the GNU.
Kunene and the party have accused Joburg mayor Dada Morero of frustrating the process and failing to facilitate his return.
"All those who are in coalition with the ANC, whether it's provincial, whether it's local, whether it's national, including our president as the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture. We will then walk away from the GNU, out of the GLU and out of the GPU."
The party says the ANC in Johannesburg has seven days to re-appoint Kunene if it wants to keep its coalitions intact.
