2 gang members shot & killed in Bonteheuwel

Two known gang members have been shot and killed in Bonteheuwel. 
 
The shooting happened on Thursday night.
 
Bonteheuwel ward councillor, Angus McKenzie, said the incident was part of ongoing rivalry between the Hard Livings and Dixie Boys gangs.
 
McKenzie said while the area where the shooting took place had been extremely quiet over the past few weeks, Thursday's murders threaten to once again reignite violence and chaos in the community.

"In response, we have immediately deployed our permanently-stationed metro police offices, law enforcement and the South African Police Services to stabilise the situation. At this stage, we can confirm that the murders were gang-related and that they were carried out by a rival gang."
