The Limpopo Transport Department is urging motorists to exercise extreme caution, following a weather warning for severe thunderstorms across parts of the province.
The department said the heavy downpours may impact road visibility and could lead to dangerous driving conditions.
Provincial Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said road users should avoid crossing flooded bridges or low-lying areas and to be vigilant of fallen trees.
"Heavy thunderstorms, strong gusty winds and localised flooding are expected. To stay safe, please check the latest weather updates regularly and plan your travels accordingly. Postpone non-essential trips, reduce your speed on wet roads, switch on your headlights, and avoid flooded areas."
