Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo has described the latest G20 Finance Track talks as constructive, as the bloc gears up for the upcoming leaders' summit next month. 

Finance ministers and central bank governors from the G20 members have met for the last time under South Africa's G20 Presidency. 

The two-day gathering in Washington took place on the sidelines of the annual International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings.

The G20 finance track focuses on global economic stability, improving international financial cooperation, and addressing pressing global challenges. 

Masondo and Reserve Bank Governor Lesetja Kganyago are currently briefing the media on the outcomes of the final meeting. 

He said amid rising geopolitical tensions, South Africa championed global cooperation and development, with a special focus on Africa.
