Civic movement Soil of Africa is calling for increased police visibility in Mamelodi after two young women were shot dead on Sunday.
Police are investigating two counts of murder after community members discovered the bodies of the young women, aged 21 and 22, on the side of the road.
Soil of Africa said it wanted to see the arrest of the perpetrators within seven days.
The group has called on community members with any knowledge of the attack to help police with information to help speed up the arrest of the suspects.
The group said gender-based violence (GBV) is a growing epidemic in South Africa, adding that it cannot continue to go unchecked.
The motive of the gruesome killing is still unknown.
