Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini will convene a meeting of royal family members on Wednesday in a bid to forge peace following the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) judgment.

Earlier in October, the SCA ruled that Misuzulu’s official recognition as Zulu king was legitimate.

The court order came after various attempts by some members of the royal family to challenge Zulu’s ascension to the throne.

Members of the Zulu royal family are expected to gather at eMashobeni Royal Palace in oPhongola, northern KwaZulu-Natal.

King Misuzulu called for the family to build unity as divisions over the throne continue to take charge amongst royal family members

While there is a faction supporting his older brother, Prince Simakade Samakhosi, his own siblings from KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace have previously expressed dissatisfaction about the monarch.

Meanwhile, those in support of Prince Simakade said they will not attend the planned meeting, saying they were not invited properly.

They've also vowed to take further legal action after consultations with their lawyers.
