The identity of the witness is being withheld for safety reasons.
The witness began their testimony last week, providing details on the December 2024 arrest of alleged underworld figure Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
Witness C told the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry last week that Matlala admitted to having links with senior police officers during a high-level operation at his home.
Former Minister of Police Bheki Cele told Parliament last week that Matlala, whom he denied being friends with, had informed him about the events that unfolded the night of the raid.
"'Cat' said to me that he wanted to speak to me because he was raided. He said the people that raided him woke him up as he was sleeping, uncovered his blanket and told him to wake up. I immediately knew that it was a special task force."
Witness C told the Madlanga Commission that Matlala’s home was raided as part of an investigation into the disappearance of his former business partner, Jerry Boshoga, who remains missing.
The witness is set to continue his testimony.
